Danny Kenny has named his selection for tomorrows opening round of this seasons Energia All Irealnd League.
Whilst the side is once again Captained by Eoin Marmion, for the third season in succession and contains familiar faces of stalworths such as Conor Pearse in the front row and Eoin's brother Killian in the backline the selection also features a number of new faces and some positional changes compared to last season.
There is a first AIL start for Gavin Rochford at 10 taking the step up from u20's last season and impressing in the Leinster League Campaign over the last few weeks. There are also first outings in the league for three of the new faces welcomed to the squad this season. Shane Fikken joins fellow New Zealander Reeve Satherley as debutants in the pack with Shane starting in the front row and Reeve partnering with Eoin Marmion in the second row whilst another kiwi, Scrum Half Ben Stephens brings AIL experience at 1B level with Wesley and will be facing some familiar foes having also spent time at Navan previously.
In some positional changes, Dave Baker moves from the nine jersey to fullback whilst Killian Marmion steps into the 12 Jersey. On the bench former Greystones youth player, Gerhard Zdunek, returning to green and white hoops from Dublin University is in line to make his senior debut for the club and we welcome the return of Freddie Happonen following a long term injury picked up at Navan early last season.
