Fran Nolan, President of Greystones RFC for the season 2017/18 passed away on Friday 11th October.

Born in Kells, Fran moved with his family to settle on the Vevay Road in Bray and attended school at Presentation Bray where he first discovered his love for Rugby. On leaving school Fran joined Greystones RFC and so began a connection that was to run for almost 60 years, first as a player and later as a respected and distinguished referee. Indeed in 2011 Fran was honored to serve as President of the Association of Leinster Referees (ARLB).
 
Fran was a familiar face on the sidelines at all Rugby activities in the club from minis through to senior, was a mentor to many who took to refereeing and will be missed by all who came to know him.
 
On behalf of Club President Anne Bowes, Executive Committee & Members we  extend our deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to Frans wife Margaret, his sons Paul and Stephen and daughter Sarah. He will be missed by his brother Peader, seven grandchildren, daughters in law, sisters and brothers in law, extended family and his many friends.
