Greystones RFC are delighted to announce the appointment of Kurt McQuilkin as Chief Rugby Officer with immediate effect.

A former Ireland International centre McQuilkin worked as a defence coach at Leinster under both Michael Cheika and Leo Cullen and was previously a promotion winning head coach at Greystones before returning to his native New Zealand at the end of the 2016 season. In more recent times he was Chief Executive at King Country Rugby in Waikato but has returned to Ireland to take up this exciting role in Greystones.

McQuilkin’s remit will see him build age and ability appropriate performance pathways through every section of the club comprising technical and tactical skills, physical development and more. He will work with both the underage and senior players implementing a coordinated coaching programme and build important relationships with all the schools in North Wicklow.

Welcoming the appointment, club president Anne Bowes said this is a statement of the club’s ambition and supports our vision of uniting players, coaches, and volunteers to develop better rugby players and better individuals for the betterment of the wider community.

McQuilkin added he is delighted to be reunited with old friends in Greystones and to take a leading role in delivering on the exciting vision of this ambitious club and is looking forward to meeting and working with coaches at all levels straight away
