Recognition for the most successful side in the club this year must go to our Fabulous Fourths. Competing in Metro Div 6 (out of 11 in the league pyramid) the side are playing a decent level of rugby and feature a blend of experience and youth, well mostly experience :) led by the evergreen Jimmy Doyle at 47yrs along with a host of other experienced players such as Tom Parker, Mervyn McGuire and Ger Dempsey who are proving age is no barrier to playing and winning.

And winning is what they keep on doing. Unbeaten this season taking 9 out of 9 so far and heading the division by six points over St Marys with a game in hand, the latest coming away to Seapoint last Saturday.

Though it was a tough game they battled out to finish on top winning 32 - 27 in a match featuring a number of great tries, like the cross-field kick from Sean Carlos, bouncing perfectly to allow Boots (Aidan Sheehan) to run under the posts for his 2nd. But the try of the day, showing age is just a number, Jimmy Doyle finishing a team try that is the finest you're likely to see this season at any level in the club.  Other tries came from Max Patton and Dave McCarthy, and 2 conversions and 1 penalty from Sean Carlos shows this teams hard work on the training ground (!) is paying off. Next up is another away fixture against CYM othis Saturday and if you want to catch up with the team you can put March 1st in your diary when they host third placed Clontarf at Dr Hickey Park.
